FAQ

What is an ASP Profile?

An ASP (Application Specific ProtoCessor) profile is a hard-coded equivalent of a protocol configuration file that is used on a FFP (Full Function ProtoCessor). Once a configuration file is fully tested, this configuration can be hard-coded for all future deliveries.

Of course, the motivation for this is the cost savings of using an ASP ProtoCessor rather than a FFP ProtoCessor for volume shipments.

This must be offset by the fact that once coded, the configurations cannot be changed, but this is not such a big deal if the device that the ProtoCessor plugs into remains the same.
